Conducted in affiliation with the NCLC (National Council on Laser Certification), IMA Offers 2 different course levels as `Hair Removal specialist (Laser technician) or as Aesthetic Laser specialist (Laser therapist). Successful participants will gain a certificate from the US as CLO-A, Certified Laser Operator – Aesthetic or as US as CLO-HR, Certified Laser Operator – Hair Removal.
This course was created to be an instrument for you and your practice to successfully integrate lasers and aesthetic procedures in everyday clinical use and practice.Approved and accredited by the major UAE Health Authorities, this laser training program provides healthcare professionals in the UAE with a reliable training solution to meet their licensing requirements.
For those based outside of Dubai Healthcare City, the International standing of the US NCLC certificate will equip them with gold clinical standards in aesthetic laser procedures.
Eligibility:
The course is open to all beauty, healthcare and medical professionals. Those without any such qualifications may start with the laser hair removal course upon confirmation from one of the IMA Team member.

Provided by the US Laser Training Institute of Professional Medical Education Assn, the parent nonprofit group of the NCLC, this 48 hours Online Module in Aesthetic Laser and Light-Based Procedures covers all your academic training.
The course module covers:

- Light-based non-ablative skin rejuvenation

Hands-on Clinical Training in Aesthetic Laser and Light-Based Procedures
5 days - Held monthly in Dubai (Limited class sizes apply)
Participate in the most intensive and comprehensive hands-on clinical training offered in the state-of-the-art clinical and academic facilities using the latest medical equipment.
Day 1 : Hair Removal using Light Based Systems
Day 2 : Hair Removal using Lasers
Day 3 : Skin Rejuvenation (Pigmented Lesions, Wrinkles, Vascular Lesions, Acne)
Day 4 : Fractional and Conventional Skin Resurfacing (Ablative & Non-ablative)
Day 5 : Skin Tightening, Combination Procedures
Upon completion of this course the participants will:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of aesthetic energy-based devices including Lasers (KTP, Ruby, Pulsed Dye, Diode, Nd:YAG, ErYAG, YSGG, CO2), Intense Pulsed Light, Radiofrequency, Ultrasound, and Light Emitting Diodes and the important features in selecting each device and their appropriate aesthetic applications.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately diagnose dermatologic conditions requiring energy-based aesthetic treatments including lentigines (brown spots), malignant and benign skin neoplasms, telangiectasias wrinkles, skin laxity, melasma, cellulite, acne, unwanted hair, veins, and tattoos.
- Recognize abnormal skin conditions requiring biopsy prior to light based treatments and effective treatment protocols.
- Review the technical considerations of energy based devices with expert luminaries and understand what these mean in clinical practice.
- Gain experience in Fitzpatrick skin typing to accurately prescribe the correct modality and treatment parameters for optimal results and avoidance of complications.
- Understand how to adjust the parameters of fluence, pulse width, cooling, and treatment times on aesthetic devices to provide safe and effective treatments.
- Recognize the desired clinical endpoints and tissue interactions for the treatment of lentigines, benign and malignant tumours, telangiectasias wrinkles, skin laxity, melasma, cellulite, acne, dysplasia, unwanted hair, veins and tattoos.
- Review the treatment protocol used in photodynamic therapy and its clinical application in skin rejuvenation, acne, actinic keratosis and skin cancer.
- Provide energy-based treatments for all aesthetic indications on live patients including the aesthetic consultation, treatment planning, pre and post care, choosing the appropriate device and treatment parameters and delivering the treatment. These treatments will be done in a clinical setting with expert luminaries to ensure safety and efficacy.
In-Class Didactic Exam Preparation followed by NCLC written examination
1 day - Held month in Dubai (Exam application and all requirements must be completed at least 14 days prior to exam date)
Prepare for your NCLC examination by participating in an intensive review of the theoretical part of the program as well as mock exam questions.
Take an official exam offered through the National Council on Laser Certification (internationally recognized academic accrediting body) on the IMA premises.
The examination aims to objectively measure essential knowledge, skills and abilities required of entry level Laser Operators in aesthetic type medical practices or aesthetic/cosmetic business. The examination consists of 125 multiple-choice questions distributed among 8 major content areas:
- Fundamentals of Optics & Lasers
- Laser Hazards to Eye & Skin
- Laser Tissue Interactions (Specific to skin & dermatological laser use)
- Laser non-beam hazards
- Class of Laser Hazard & controlled areas
- Regulations & Standards
- Administrative Controls
